AEA 2016 Rome

Travel & ACCOMMODATION

TRAVEL
Major Rome airports are Ciampino (budget airlines), and Fiumicino.  Both are 30-45 minutes from Rome.
The Leonardo Express (train) is the fastest and most reasonably priced method into the city from Fiumicino. Trains arrive at Termini station, and from there, transport (taxi or bus) to the Gianicolo Hill (location of the conference) is needed. Buses are also available from both airports, and are the cheapest form of transport but can take some time.

Public transport to and from Ciampino is limited, so a taxi is recommended (around €30).  If taking a taxi from either airport, do not respond to 'offers' but go to the outside official taxi queue, fixed prices exist for fares to and from inside the Aurelian walls.  Within the city, buses and the metro are very cheap €1.50 per 90 minute trip.  Precise directions for arrival at the American University in Rome are contained in the downloadable file below.

ACCOMMODATION
Many options exist for accommodation in Rome.  Unfortunately there is no university accommodation available at the time of the conference, however, nearby B and B, and hotel options are listed in the file that may be dowloaded, below.  Here is a map of the conference main location at the American University of Rome, Via Pietro Roselli, 4, 00153 Roma, Italy.
