INFORMATION on WIFI, and ESSENTIAL ADVICE to speakers, as well as the CONFERENCE dinner - please click on the links below to download. Speakers, if you have not yet registered and paid online, please do so now (click on REGISTRATION above, and that will lead you through the process; payment is secured through the University of Cambridge and exchange rate options are supported). Other attendees should also register online. Walk up attendance also permitted, but lunch cannot be guaranteed.
Please bring photo id when you register for the conference (whether you are registering at the American Academy of Rome or the American University of Rome) and please carry it with you at all times. You will be given a conference name badge, please wear it, so that the security staff can identify you. Please be aware that security staff are instructed to be able to identify everyone on the AUR campus, so if they approach you for verification please be co-operative and understand that they are only doing their job, and that the ultimate objective is to ensure everyone’s safety. We will be giving a list of all registered participants to the guards. You will notice that there are Italian soldiers by the gates. These units are part of the “safe streets” campaign which was initiated after the Paris bombings. You will see them at public buildings, metro stations and around all foreign institutions. They are there on the orders of the Italian state and have nothing to do with AUR.
**Note that we have two different but similarly named institutions as hosts: the American Academy in Rome, (Plenary session, Thurs evening),and the American University of Rome (sessions and posters). Click on the Maps tab for more information.
The conference dinner is to be held at Trattoria Vascello (cost €35 all inclusive). This will be an informal friendly event, at a very low price. Lots of food options in a three course meal. Wine and water included. Don't forget to note on your registration form if you wish to attend, and if you have any dietary preferences.
